Haddonfield United Methodist Nursery School

Haddonfield United Methodist Nursery School
Established-1957

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Haddonfield United Methodist Nursery School is to help each child to develop to the fullest his own potential in an atmosphere of love and trust, of acceptance and understanding. As a church sponsored school, we attempt to provide this nurturing atmosphere, to follow Christian principles and to encourage Christian attitude, but do not teach sectarian doctrine.

The Nursery School is approved by the State of New Jersey, Division of Youth and Family Services on the basis of equipment, personnel, class routine, and sanitation and fire prevention.

The program develops around the interests of the children, using language arts, math, social studies, science, music and art. We believe the individual child should have his curiosity aroused, his horizons expanded and his experiences broadened.

Philosophy

Through play, the child discovers himself/herself and his/her relationships to other people, animals and things. Through creative activities, he/she stretches the imagination and stimulates his/her creative development. The encouragement and development of rational thinking, fair play, self reliance and individual freedom are all part of the Nursery School objectives.

The Nursery School curriculum is implemented by activities including pre-reading and pre-math concepts, drama and music activities, fine and gross motor activities, and social relationships.
Two outdoor play areas are available to the children as well as an indoor area to be used during inclement weather.
