Haddonfield UMC offers many ways to serve God in our church, our community, and our world. Consider one of the following areas in which you might be able to volunteer:

  • Administrative: Assist with a variety of office tasks such as mailings and filing; assist in planning or creating publicity and awareness materials.
  • Altar Flower Delivery: Deliver Altar flowers to shut-ins and hospital patients.
  • Building and Grounds Care: Perform minor repair and maintenance projects; maintain grounds; clean windows; plant and maintain flower beds; maintain the cemetery.
  • Children and Adult Christian Education: A wide variety of opportunities to plan and teach lessons; babysit children; Vacation Bible School; Advent Workshop; Easter Egg Hunt; pre-marital classes.
  • Church Teams: Be appointed or elected to participate in committees that oversee church operations such as Administrative Council, Board of Trustees, Staff Parish Relations, or Finance.
  • Congregational Care: Stephen Ministry; Visitation Ministry Team (visit shut-ins or those in the hospital); communication and fellowship with peer groups; pray for people in need.
  • Driving Ministry: Drive church bus for events such as pick up/drop off for Sunday worship services, UMW events, or youth trips; deliver donated items to local missions such as Fellowship House or Neighborhood Center.
  • Floral Arts Guild: Arrange flowers for worship services and other events; maintain health of indoor plants.
  • Health and Wellness: Plan and facilitate health related opportunities such as health fairs, blood pressure monitoring, or educational opportunities; plan and supervise sports activities and outdoor trips.
  • Hospitality: Greet people as they come in for worship; act as receptionist at Welcome Center Desk; provide tumblers and information packs to visitors; provide snacks for the fellowship table on Sunday.
  • Missions: Plan and participate in a variety of both internal and external mission projects such as food drives, clothing collections, Neighborhood Center, Urban Promise, My Father’s Hands, Fellowship House, etc. Click here for the Missions page.
  • Multi- Media Team: Operate multi-media devices at worship and other events.
  • Music Ministry: Sing in choirs or play instruments in the praise and worship band or hand bell choirs; both adults and children are needed. Click here for the Music Ministry page.
  • Photography: Take photos at a variety of events.
  • Prayer Shawl Ministry: Knit or crochet prayer shawls for hurting people and those celebrating joyous times like new babies and weddings.
  • Sanctuary and Chapel Services: Act as ushers and acolytes, prepare for baptisms, serve Communion, help in other special events.
  • Transportation: Help provide rides to church to those who can’t drive themselves.
  • United Methodist Women: Plan and participate in women’s fellowship, monthly “circle” meetings, monthly luncheons, and service projects.
  • Wednesday Night Dinners: Prepare, serve, and cleanup at our weekly fellowship gathering on Wednesday nights from October through April.
  • Youth Ministry: Fellowship and service opportunities with middle school and high school children. Click here for the Youth Ministry page.
