When I think of the joy that music brings to my life and yours, I stand  in awe of its power and majesty as well as its delicate promoting of the heart.  This year's programming certainly explores the extremes of  music's magic. An American Portrait is the first of our concerts.  The music selected for this event reflects the bond that the American Spirit provides.  From the tragedies of war to the cheering for Lance Armstrong, The American Spirit provides us with something that most of the world never experiences.  The words of a Romanian newsman offer this to ponder, "What on earth can unite the Americans in such a way? Their land? Their galloping history? Their economic power? Money? I tried for hours to find an answer, humming songs and murmuring phrases with the risk of sounding commonplace. I thought things over, but I reached only one conclusion...Only freedom can work such miracles."

I trust that you'll enjoy this offering by the MasterChorale and accompanying musicians in celebrating our freedom and heritage.
